Rolling Steel Service Doors

Rolling steel doors protect warehouses, docks, and industrial openings for decades. We install and service them so they keep doing that.

Rolling Steel Service Doors in Sacramento & Northern California

A rolling steel service door is built from interlocking steel slats that coil onto a barrel above the opening. It's the standard for loading docks, distribution centers, industrial plants, fire stations, and any opening that needs security, durability, and a small footprint. The tradeoff is weight — these doors depend on properly tensioned counterbalance springs, straight guides, and an operator sized for the cycle count, and when any of those slip the door stops working.

Guardian Door LLC installs, repairs, and replaces rolling steel service doors throughout Sacramento and Northern California, including insulated doors, standard slat doors, high-cycle spring and springless systems, manual chain-hoist doors, and motorized doors with commercial operators. We supply and install replacement slats, bottom bars, guides, barrels, springs, hoods, and hardware, and we set up preventive maintenance for docks where a down door stops a shift.

How Rolling Steel Doors Works

What to expect from the first call through the finished opening.

  1. 1

    Opening and load review

We measure the opening, confirm headroom and side room, and identify the slat profile, cycle demand, wind load, and insulation needs.

  2. 2

    Specification and quote

New doors are specified by gauge, slat profile, finish, operation type, and operator, with lead time listed on the quote.

  3. 3

    Installation

Guides are anchored to the jambs, the barrel and brackets set, the curtain hung and tensioned, and the hood, hoist or operator installed.

  4. 4

    Repair and component replacement

On existing doors we replace slats, bottom bars, springs, guides, and hardware and re-tension the counterbalance.

  5. 5

    Operation and safety check

The door is cycled, limits set, and photo eyes and sensing edges verified on motorized doors.
